Respond is a housing association in Ireland which works to alleviate poverty and create vibrant, socially integrated communities. This is done by providing access to education, childcare, community development programmes, housing and other supports.
Respond was established in 1982 and has built more than 5,500 homes nationwide. Respond has provided homes for traditional families, lone-parent families, older persons, the homeless and people with disabilities.
The on-going project is valued at €1.6 million.
This project, in Ferrybank, consists of the construction of 1o housing units on the site.
These houses are of concrete block construction, with k-rend external plastering, timber truss roofs and concrete tiled roofs.
The internal works include joinery, fitted kitchens and wardrobes, with all associated mechanical and electrical installations completed.
The external works include the construction of car parks, new site entrance, service roads, storm water pipe works and attenuation area, utility connections and soft and hard landscaping.
